If you’re Australian, you’ve definitely heard the term “ Throw another shrimp on the barbie."
Although it is funny and stereotypical, we can not deny the fact that throwing another shrimp on the barbie, is indeed a delicious idea.
But not as simple as some might think - it’s a delicate process.
To get to that mouth watering satisfying shrimp to it’s full potential, we have jotted down our favourite Aussie delicacy..
What you will need:
500g Peeled Prawns
1 cup melted butter
Olive oil
¼ cup Orange juice
4 x garlic cloves (minced)
2 tbl spoons dry white wine
2 tbl spoons chopped parsley
1 tbl spoon fresh basil (chopped)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Method:
Preheat grill onto a medium heat.
Place peeled shrimp into a large bowl.
Combine all ingredients and divide sauced in half.
Pour ½ of sauce onto the prawns cover with cling wrap and let sit in refrigerator for 30/40 minutes.
Arrange shrimp onto skewers keeping in mind to not overcrowd. ( you can fit around 4-5 )
Place shrimp skewers onto grill and cook each side for roughly ⅔ minutes.
Pour remaining half of sauce over skewers and garnish with basil & parsley
